Acupuncture at Vessel Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine
Acupuncture is a time-tested healing practice rooted in East Asian medicine. It’s based on the principle that health depends on the smooth flow of energy, called Qi, through a network of channels in the body. When this flow becomes disrupted, it can lead to pain, illness, or dysfunction. By gently stimulating specific points along these pathways, acupuncture helps restore balance, regulate the nervous system, and support the body’s natural healing processes.
Modern research supports what practitioners have known for centuries: acupuncture can reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and calm the stress response, making it effective for conditions like chronic pain, insomnia, hormonal imbalance, digestive issues, and more.
What Is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body. Most patients feel little to no pain, just a mild sensation such as warmth, tingling, or heaviness. These sensations are signs that your body is responding. Needles are typically left in place for 20–30 minutes while you rest in a quiet, relaxed setting.
What to Expect During a Session
Your first visit includes a detailed intake to assess your symptoms, health history, and lifestyle. We’ll also take your pulse, look at your tongue, and discuss any patterns from an East Asian medical perspective. From there, we’ll create a treatment plan tailored to your goals. Your session may also include other therapies such as cupping, gua sha, or lifestyle recommendations to support your healing between visits.
At Vessel Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine, we combine traditional wisdom with modern insight to deliver thoughtful, personalized care. Whether you’re looking for relief from persistent discomfort or seeking more energy and balance in daily life, acupuncture offers a powerful and natural path to wellness.
To ensure the best results, all new patients begin with a comprehensive 90-minute session that includes an in-depth intake and initial treatment. After that, 60- and 30-minute follow-up visits are available. Some conditions may require multiple sessions.
